According to a report in Live Hindustan, there were rumors that Shah Rukh Khan replaced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in five films because of Salman Khan.

It is said that in the late 1990s, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had signed five films with Shah Rukh Khan, including ‘Chalte Chalte’, ‘Baazigar Returns’, ‘Josh’, ‘Mohabbatein’ and ‘Shakti: The Power’. However, she was replaced in all these films.

According to the report, it was due to Salman Khan’s intervention that Aishwarya was replaced in these films. Apparently, Salman and Aishwarya had broken up during the making of ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and since then, Salman didn’t want to work with Aishwarya in any films.

It is also said that Shah Rukh, who was close to Salman, didn’t want to upset him by casting Aishwarya in these films. As a result, she was replaced by other actresses in all five films.

However, Aishwarya and Shah Rukh have worked together in other films, including ‘Devdas’ and ‘Mohabbatein’, which were both successful at the box office.

It is worth noting that Aishwarya has previously talked about being replaced in ‘Chalte Chalte’, which was directed by Aziz Mirza and produced by Juhi Chawla. She had said that she was removed from the film without any prior notice, which had upset her a lot.

Nevertheless, Aishwarya and Shah Rukh have maintained a cordial relationship over the years, and they have been seen interacting warmly at public events.
