Hina Khan, a popular television actress with a large social media following, has faced severe backlash for a photoshoot she did at a masjid while currently being in Madinah.
The actress gained recognition for portraying the character of Akshara in the well-known TV series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ and has been sharing photos of her visit to various religious sites.
Hina faced a lot of criticism on her social media posts after sharing pictures of her trip to Madinah. She recently went to Saudi Arabia with her family to perform Umrah and shared pictures and reels of her journey on her verified Instagram account.
Hina, who has appeared in numerous TV shows, including the reality show ‘Bigg Boss,‘ was seen wearing a light purple abaya while posing for photos within the premises of the masjid.
“Ibaadat ka rukh makka hai, Mohabbat ka rukh madina hai,” she captioned the picture.
After Hina’s pictures went viral, many people criticized the actress for doing a photoshoot inside the masjid. One user commented, “Oh come on, did you go for Umrah or for a photoshoot?”
Another person condemned Hina, stating, “Shame on you, Hina. As a celebrity, you should display some level of responsibility. It seems like you’re just doing a photoshoot. This is a sacred place for us. Please respect the place.”
According to ETimes, a third user commented on her post, saying, “Maldives, Bali, London, NYC, Switzerland, etc., are now outdated. Nowadays, people visit pilgrimage sites like Mecca, Medina, Vaishnodevi, Golden Temple, etc., just for a photoshoot!”
