Initially, I had low expectations for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’s trailer. As someone who holds a firm belief that Salman Khan’s movies do not add much value to society, I ignored the trailer when it was released yesterday.
However, snippets from the trailer that were shared on social media caught my attention, and I ended up watching it to understand the memes better.
Despite my low expectations for the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan trailer, it left me feeling disappointed. The cringe-worthy dialogues, overacting, predictable storyline, and Salman’s horrendous wig all contributed to the film’s lackluster trailer. It felt like a cheap imitation of a well-executed South Indian action movie.
Unlike KKBKKJ, South Indian action movies are genuinely entertaining to watch due to their catchy dialogues and upbeat songs. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, on the other hand, seems like a novice film trying to imitate an iconic genre and failing miserably.
The dialogues in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan are reminiscent of the excruciating catchphrases in Race 3, such as “Our business is our business, none of your business.” Some of the dialogues from Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan include “Willpower over power” and “I will support humanity, as a part of humanity.”
It seems like Salman, also known as Bhaijaan, wrote the dialogues himself or that a prankster like Rancho from 3 Idiots played with the dialogue document just to annoy the audience, as he did in the movie.
To avoid the wrath of the boycott gang that ruined several films last year, the movie has cast South Indian stars such as Venkatesh Dagubatti and Pooja Hegde to dispel any North vs. South comparisons. It has also cast younger actors such as Sidharth Nigam and Raghav Juyal to appeal to the younger audience who idolizes social media stars.
The film also features a special appearance by RRR star Ram Charan in the song “Yentamma,” which is the icing on the cake.
KKKKJ is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Veeram, which was a blockbuster. However, its Bollywood remake may not have the same success, even with Salman Khan’s star power. Modern audiences seek an entertaining theatrical experience that evokes emotions, and based on the trailer, this film seems to be a hodgepodge of eccentricities.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan aims to serve Salman Khan’s ego and elevate him as everyone’s brother and beloved. However, in service to Salman, the movie seems to have sacrificed everything else, including the script, music, dialogues, and logic.
