Last Friday, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Boman Irani, and Jaaved Jaaferi posted videos on their social media accounts that hinted at the possibility of a sequel to the comedy-drama film ‘3 Idiots’.
Kareena took to Instagram to share a video in which she talks about Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and R Madhavan reuniting for a press conference while she was on vacation in Africa with Saif Ali Khan, Jeh Ali Khan, and Taimur.

In the video, Kareena remarked, ‘This press conference clip that’s been circulating is related to a secret that these three are keeping from us. I have a feeling that something’s fishy and I don’t believe they’re just coming for Sharman’s movie promotion. I think they’re plotting a sequel. It definitely smells like a sequel to me.’ She concluded her video by stating that she intends to call Boman Irani.
In February 2023, Aamir, R Madhavan, and Sharman came together for a special video to promote ‘Congratulations,’ an upcoming film by the ‘Golmaal’ actor. This sparked a lot of speculation about a potential sequel to ‘3 Idiots.
Following Kareena’s video, Boman Irani also posted a clip on his Instagram account, in which he expressed his surprise at the news of a potential ‘3 Idiots’ sequel. He said, ‘Whatever you guys are up to, it’s already out and the clip has gone viral. How could you even consider a ‘3 Idiots’ sequel without Virus (Boman’s character)? It’s good that Kareena called and informed me; otherwise, I would have never known. This is not fair. How can you cook up something this big and not even inform us? Where’s our friendship? I thought we were friends.’ He concluded the video by mentioning that he was going to call Jaaved Jafferi.

Following Kareena and Boman, Jaaved also took to his Instagram and shared a clip in which he expressed his disappointment.
In the clip, Jaaved expressed his surprise at the news of a ‘3 Idiots’ sequel being made without the original Rancho. He said, ‘Have you seen the latest news? ‘3 Idiots’ Part 2 is in the works, but without the original Rancho. I mean, seriously? I was the original Rancho, and he was Chote.’ He then asked actor Mona Singh if she had any knowledge about this development.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘3 Idiots’ was released in 2009 and garnered a tremendous response from both fans and critics.
Following the actors’ video posts, fans flooded the comment section with red heart emoticons and expressed their excitement. One fan wrote, ‘All is well,’ while another commented, ‘Best news ever if this is true.’ A user also wrote, ‘SCREAMINGGGGH.’
here has been no official confirmation regarding the sequel of the film yet.
