Fans are abuzz with discussions about the upcoming Shaktimaan movie, the beloved Indian superhero. Mukesh Khanna, who played Shaktimaan in the 1997 TV series, has been actively talking about the film. On May 22, Khanna shared a video reacting to his meeting with actor Ranveer Singh. Now, he has shared another video.
Is Ranveer Singh Final?
In the new video, Mukesh Khanna says, “Ranveer Singh came to meet me. Within two to three hours of sharing my video, news channels started reporting that Ranveer Singh came to persuade me. I said that Ranveer Singh is a very dynamic personality and there is no other actor with his energy in the industry. Let me clarify, I said all this, but I did not say that he is going to play Shaktimaan. Keep that in mind.”
In the video’s caption, he wrote, “Will Ranveer Singh play Shaktimaan? Did I say anything like that?” Meanwhile, in the comment section, users seemed annoyed with Mukesh’s statement. Many commented that Mohit Raina is the best choice to play Shaktimaan. Others suggested that Ranveer Singh should be given a chance. One user even commented, “Oh man, daily drama. Just make Rajpal Yadav Shaktimaan.”
What Did Mukesh Khanna Say Earlier?
Mukesh Khanna had shared a video on Instagram, saying, “There were rumors that Ranveer Singh came to convince me. Yes, he came. We welcomed him. He is a very dynamic personality. We had many discussions, but some things are to be told and some to be kept hidden until the right time.”
He further said, “So, what happened, what didn’t, I won’t detail it, but it’s true he came. We had a great time for three to four hours, and all our office members welcomed him. I wish him all the best for his career. I have said before that Ranveer Singh is the most energetic actor in the industry. The camel has not yet sat on any side, the churn continues. When it settles, I will tell you. This Shaktimaan is being made for you, not for me.”
Mukesh Opposed Ranveer
In 2022, Sony Pictures announced the Shaktimaan film. Reports suggest it will be a mega-budget film, estimated to cost 200-300 crores. Ranveer Singh was believed to play the superhero. However, in March this year, Mukesh Khanna objected to Ranveer playing Shaktimaan. Despite Ranveer’s star power, Khanna said Ranveer could never be Shaktimaan. He criticized Ranveer’s nude photoshoot, calling it childish, and said such an actor could never play Shaktimaan.
