This is during the film ‘Coolie’. 37 years ago, there was an incident with Amitabh on the film’s set that cost him his life. During the fight scene on the set, Villain’s punch hit Big B’s stomach and he hit a steel table. This caused a deep injury to his stomach. The injury was very deep. This can be gauged from the fact that Amitabh Bachchan was hanging between life and death. Amitabh Bachchan survived, but this incident made actor Puneet Issar a real villain in the eyes of the people. Actually, in ‘Coolie’, Puneet Isaar played the role of Villain and the fight scene was between Amitabh and Puneet.

During the shoot, Puneet was supposed to hit some punch in the stomach of Amitabh which was pretentious. As the shoot commences, Puneet Issar picks up Amitabh and throws it on the table, Amitabh kicks him and he falls off the table. Meanwhile, Amitabh suffered a deep stomach injury and said, ‘I got injured.’

After this incident, Amitabh was not operated for about 72 hours, due to which, Amitabh’s trouble increased. When he was admitted to the hospital, he started fighting death. On one hand, Amitabh’s struggle was going on in the hospital, on the other hand, Puneet Issar was living in an embarrassment that due to him, Amitabh’s life was affected.

People started looking at Puneet Issar with bad eyes. What did the people not say? Cursing, saying bad and people also sent many messages to Puneet Issar. Amitabh and his family have forgiven Puneet Issar.

Amitabh even told Puneet not to panic, it was just an accident, but after that accident, Puneet Issar’s bad days started. For 3-4 years, Puneet Issar did not get any work nor any film. He had become unemployed. He had the responsibility of his wife and family but due to lack of work, he had a lot of trouble.

This sequence lasted for 6 years. This was also revealed by Puneet Issar in an interview. Then after many years, he got the role of Duryodhan in BR Chopra’s TV serial ‘Mahabharata’. After that accident, Puneet Issar never worked with Amitabh Bachchan again.
