Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 blockbuster “War” just got bigger with the announcement of Jr NTR joining the star-studded cast. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the reports that the Telugu superstar will be starring alongside Hrithik Roshan in “War 2.” Ayan Mukerji will direct the film, and it will be a part of the YRF Spy Universe. Hrithik is expected to reprise his role as the super spy Kabir, but there are no details yet on Jr NTR’s character.

A source revealed to news agency ANI that the addition of Jr NTR to the cast makes “War 2” a true pan-Indian film. The source said, “Jr NTR is one of the most respected and followed icons from South India. He is extremely choosy about his films, and if he has given the film a nod, it means ‘War 2’ is eclipsing the first film in terms of plot as well as scale. Hrithik Roshan vs Jr NTR will be a fight to remember!”

The film’s setting will be in the Yash Raj Spy Universe, which also includes Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger films. “War” was directed by Siddharth Anand and starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, and was a big hit in 2019.

Jr NTR is currently working on an untitled Telugu film with Janhvi Kapoor, and his upcoming film “RRR,” co-starring Ram Charan, won the Best Original Song Oscar for the viral track “Naatu Naatu.”

“War 2” is expected to be a blockbuster, and Jr NTR’s inclusion will undoubtedly make it one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film is expected to appeal to a wider audience, thanks to Jr NTR’s massive fan following in South India.
