About Yash Raj Films’ War 2
War 2, a sequel to the 2019 hit War, was made on a budget of 400 crores. While the original War starred Hrithik Roshan alongside Tiger Shroff, War 2 sees South Indian superstar Jr NTR stepping into Tiger’s shoes. The narrative picks up directly from the ending of the first War. Years later, former intelligence agent Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan) has become the country’s most wanted individual. To thwart his nefarious plans, the government deploys its finest special unit officer, Vikram (Jr NTR). Vikram is the only operative capable of confronting and apprehending his dangerous and elusive target. Amidst this, Kavya Luthra (Kiara Advani) makes her entrance. Kavya’s character is shrouded in suspense; she is as beautiful as she is dangerous. The film’s climax is mind-bending, with numerous suspenseful revelations unfolding in the final 20 minutes. To uncover more, you’ll need to watch the entire movie.
War 2 Star Cast Performance Review
War 2 is an action thriller that prioritizes style over substance. While the story deviates slightly from previous YRF Spy Universe films and held potential, it wasn’t fully utilized. Certain scenes, such as the introduction sequence, dance numbers, and some plot twists, were well executed. Regarding acting, Hrithik Roshan impresses as always with his action and style. Jr NTR delivers justice to his character, and the enthusiasm for his performance among fans is palpable. Kiara Advani has a limited role, but her glamorous presence appealed to audiences, and she also appears in action sequences. The performances of the other cast members were satisfactory.
War 2 Direction and Music Review
The production value of War 2 is spectacular. However, there was considerable room for improvement in the background music. Ayan Mukerji’s direction was commendable, though some action sequences felt over-the-top and unnecessary. The film’s advance bookings were impressive, with approximately 4 lakh tickets sold. It is estimated to have an opening day collection exceeding 20 crores.
