Akshay Kumar upcoming movies: From ‘Big Boss’ to ‘Small Boss,’ Swimming in 350 Crore Waters, Betting High on These Five Films

Akshay Kumar upcoming movies: In the year 1987, a glimpse of actor Akshay Kumar was seen in a small role as a karate instructor in the film ‘Aaj.’ Since his debut as a hero in the film ‘Saugandh’ released in 1991, he has been a craze among film producers. Regardless of whether his films perform well at the box office, producers recover their money from other rights of the films. This is why despite the super-flop of the film ‘Big Boss, Small Boss’ this year, five more of his films are in line for release. This will be the eighth opportunity for Akshay to release six or more films in a year.

After the success of the first film of the ‘Khiladi’ series in 1992, six films of Akshay Kumar were released in cinemas the following year. Then, in the year 1994, Akshay set a kind of record when his 11 films were released within 12 months. Since then, in the years 1997, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2022, he has had six or more films released. Since the film ‘Sooryavanshi,’ he has already delivered a half a dozen flop films at the box office, yet his craze among producers is not diminishing.

The biggest budget film released so far this year has been ‘Big Boss, Small Boss,’ which has been struggling from day one. To be considered a hit, this film, made on a budget of around 350 crores, needed to earn at least 70 crores on the opening day, but even after coming in the third week of release, it failed to gather such an amount. After such a bad start to the year, the future of the five proposed films for Akshay’s release this year seems uncertain.

Akshay Kumar’s next release is the film ‘Sarfira,’ scheduled for release on July 12th. This film, made as an official Hindi remake of the Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru,’ is directed by Sudha Kongara, the director of the original film. Sudha’s film ‘Iruddhi Suttru’ (Hindi ‘Saala Khadoos’) gained attention, and her latest film has been in the pipeline for a while now. The shooting of the film was completed a year ago, and it was believed that the film ‘Big Boss, Small Boss’ would create a good atmosphere for its release.

After ‘Sarfira,’ Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Khel Khel Mein’ is proposed to be released on September 6th. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, director of ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi,’ this film stars Taapsee Pannu as Akshay Kumar’s heroine, whose box office report card has also not been very good. Besides them, the film ‘Khel Khel Mein’ will also feature Vaani Kapoor, Amy Virk, Aditya Seal, Prajna Jayaswal, and Fardeen Khan in important roles. The producers of ‘Khel Khel Mein’ tried to bring back Fardeen Khan, who is returning to the camera after ‘Heeramandi,’ a couple of days ago to bring some attention to their film.

After ‘Sarfira’ and ‘Khel Khel Mein,’ another film of Akshay Kumar will be released on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2nd, titled ‘Sky Force.’ In a year where films and series based on the Pulwama attack and Balakot airstrike have failed to leave their mark, the film ‘Sky Force’ is preparing to tell the story of India’s first airstrike on Pakistan. This attack was carried out by the Indian Air Force on the Sargodha Airbase during the 1965 India-Pakistan War. Alongside Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan is the heroine of the film, whose career in Hindi cinema has reached almost the brink. This picture has been made by Jio Studios and its associate company Maddock Films, and its shooting has also been completed.

The film that everyone has high hopes for Akshay Kumar is ‘Singham Again.’ Although the hero of Rohit Shetty Universe’s film is Ajay Devgan, in this film, actor Akshay Kumar will be seen as his character Sooryavanshi, and Ranveer Singh as his character Simmba. The film will also feature Tiger Shroff and Deepika Padukone entering Rohit Shetty’s Police Universe. This film was supposed to be released on August 15th, but due to the craze for Allu Arjun’s film ‘Pushpa 2,’ its release has been postponed until Diwali.

And, the last film proposed for release by Akshay Kumar this year is ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’ In this third film of the ‘Welcome’ franchise, there are a dozen stars with Akshay Kumar, and the film is directed by Ahmad Khan, who has had a flop hat-trick with films like ‘Baaghi 3,’ ‘Heropanti 2,’ and ‘Rashtravaad Om.’ Akshay has recently shot for a Telugu film ‘Kannappa,’ in which he will be seen in a cameo role. The release date of this film has not been decided yet. Another film of Akshay Kumar, ‘Shankara,’ has also been completed. In this film based on C. Shankaran Nair, who was the Congress president in 1897 and wrote the book ‘Gandhi and Anarchy,’ actor R Madhavan will also be seen in important roles. The distributor for this film has not been found yet.
