An adult film unexpectedly played on TV screens at Patna railway station in Bihar, leaving passengers stunned. The incident occurred around 9:30 AM on Sunday, as reported by India Today. Passengers at the station who were expecting to see advertisements on the screens filed complaints with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).
Blurred clips of the incident have since gone viral on Twitter. The clip reportedly played for three minutes.
Dutta Communication, the agency responsible for running advertisements on the station screens, has been blacklisted by the Railways and fined. The GRP initially delayed taking action, prompting the RPF to intervene and ask Dutta Communication to stop the porn clip relayed in front of hundreds of people at the station, including women and children.
Railway officials later took action and registered an FIR against Dutta Communication. According to sources cited by India Today, the contract that entrusted the agency to run advertisements on the TV screens installed at the station has been terminated. Officials are also investigating why the porn clip was played specifically on platform number 10.
A similar incident occurred last year on the Worli-bound road in Mumbai, where the LED display board flashed a ‘Smoke weed everyday’ message allegedly caused by a technical glitch. India Today reported that bikers and drivers on the road to Worli saw the message and quickly shared photos of it, which went viral on social media. The LED board was located close to the junction starting from Haji Ali dargah towards the city bakery/ Worli Naka junction.
