The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to face off in the upcoming match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The encounter between the two teams will take place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Saturday, April 15. Prior to the match, RCB batter Virat Kohli and DC head coach Ricky Ponting had a brief chat, which was captured in a video shared by the Delhi Capitals on Twitter. In this article, we take a closer look at the two teams’ current form, their chances in the upcoming match, and the interaction between Kohli and Ponting.
RCB’s Recent Form
In their last match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), RCB failed to defend a total of 213 runs, conceding a bye with a misfield when 1 run was needed off the final ball of the match. The KL Rahul-led team managed to chase down the target by a wicket in a last-ball thriller. RCB, who are led by Faf du Plessis, have won just one out of their three matches in the IPL 2023 so far.
DC’s Recent Form
DC, on the other hand, have had a dismal start to their IPL 2023 campaign, losing all four of their matches. In their previous encounter against the Mumbai Indians (MI), they scored 172 while batting first at their home ground in Delhi. However, they missed the runout chance off the last ball of the match when MI needed two runs to win.
RCB vs DC: The Matchup
Both RCB and DC are struggling in the ongoing season of the IPL, with the latter being the only team without a single win in the four matches they have played. RCB, who are in 7th place in the 10-team points table, will be looking to make a comeback this season with a victory in the upcoming match. DC, on the other hand, will be hoping to register their first win of the season against RCB.
Kohli Meets Ponting and His Son
In the video shared by DC on Twitter, Kohli and Ponting can be seen having a brief chat, with the former Australian skipper introducing his son to the RCB batter. Kohli then revealed that he had met Ponting’s son outside.
The RCB vs DC encounter promises to be an exciting match, with both teams hoping to turn their fortunes around in the IPL 2023. While RCB will be looking to build on their solitary win of the season, DC will be eager to register their first victory. The interaction between Kohli and Ponting, meanwhile, shows the camaraderie between players and coaches despite the fierce competition on the field.
