Rohit ‘Record’ Sharma: ‘Hitman’ created history by scoring a century in both innings

Team India’s hitman Rohit Sharma made history in the first Test being played against South Africa in Visakhapatnam. He has become the first player in the world to score the most runs (303) as an opener in Test cricket. Rohit, who played a brilliant century of 176 runs in the first innings, also scored a brilliant century in the second innings. He completed his century in 133 balls. With this, he made several records to his name.

Rohit Sharma has become the first batsman to score a century in both innings of the first Test as an opener. He scored 176 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings, 127 runs came off his bat.

Rohit Sharma has now become the first player to score more than 12 sixes in a Test match. In this case, he surpassed former Pakistan spin bowler Wasim Akram. Wasim had 12 sixes against Zimbabwe in Sheikhupura in 1996.

Rohit Sharma is the first Indian player to be stumped twice in a Test match.

Rohit Sharma (2019) became the second Indian batsman to score a century in both innings as an opener in a Test match. Three times before Sunil Gavaskar (1971, 1978, 1978) has done this feat.

Rohit has broken Navjot Singh Sidhu’s record. Sidhu hit 8 sixes in 1994 against Sri Lanka in Lucknow. Rohit is also the highest sixes Indian in One-Day and T20. He hit 16 sixes in the 2013 Bangalore ODI against Australia. After this, in 2017 T20 played in Indore, he hit 10 sixes against Sri Lanka.

Rohit Sharma hit 6 sixes in the second innings of the first Test in Visakhapatnam between India and South Africa. In the second innings, the hitman hit 7 sixes, with which he also became the record for most 13 sixes for India in a Test match.

Rohit Sharma became the first player from India to score more than 50 runs in 7 consecutive innings.
