The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy has finally made its way to India, marking a historic moment eagerly awaited by millions of fans. On June 29th, India clinched the title by defeating South Africa by seven runs in Barbados. However, due to Hurricane Beryl, Team India’s stay in Barbados was extended. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranged a special flight for the team and Indian journalists stranded in Barbados to return home safely.

As soon as Team India landed, captain Rohit Sharma’s exuberance was evident. At the airport, he proudly displayed the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, sparking joy among the fans present. The team then boarded a bus heading to ITC Maurya Hotel, with fans lining the route to catch a glimpse of their heroes. Rohit Sharma, with his infectious enthusiasm, showcased the trophy through the bus window and even playfully stuck out his tongue.

BCCI’s Grand Welcome for Team India

BCCI shared a video of Team India’s grand welcome on social media. Rohit Sharma, along with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Chief Roger Binny, celebrated by cutting a cake at the airport. Upon arriving at the hotel, the atmosphere was electric with drums playing in celebration. Rohit joined in the festivities, dancing joyfully to the beat of the drums.

Rohit’s dance moves were delightfully funny, capturing the joyous spirit of the moment. A voice from the crowd cheered, “We won the World Cup, Rohit Sharma will dance!” And dance he did, embracing the moment with unbridled happiness. Following this remarkable victory, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20 International cricket, although they will continue to play in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches.
